How it helps your business

What market readiness does for you

Know if a buyer could choose you

Ready, Almost or Not yet, measured against what buyers ask for.

See what is missing

Each registration, licence and certificate a buyer checks, item by item.

Fix the right thing first

One list, in order, so your effort goes where it moves your band.

Sell to bigger buyers

Retailers, corporates and government ask these questions before they buy.

How it works

Your market readiness project, in four steps

01

Learn

7 short lessons, each with a video and a quiz.

02

Start your project

We set up a project plan for you: 15 activities, starting with “Identify attractive markets” and “Identify your target audience”.

03

Do the work step by step

Work through them one at a time, such as “Market research”, “Develop market entry options” and “Develop the strategy”, and watch your progress. You, your apprentice or your consultant can do it.

04

Get your reports

A status report as you go. The last activities, such as “Evaluate the cost” and “Assess internal capabilities”, lead to a final report you accept. RMK also approves it where a consultant did the work.

  1. Your band. Ready, Almost or Not yet.
  2. Compliance. Registrations, tax and the licences your industry needs, each with a document.
  3. Operations and capacity. Whether you can deliver what a buyer orders.
  4. Your people. Who runs the work and the skills they bring.
  5. Your market. How big it is and how long it will last.
  6. B-BBEE and jobs. What a buyer's procurement scores.
  7. What is missing. Item by item, with what to fix first.

Along the way you also get a status report: the three stages, anything past its date, and every activity in order.
