How it helps your business

What financial management does for you

Know your real numbers

What came in, what went out, what you are owed and what you owe.

A month-end routine

The bank reconciled and the accounts produced every month.

Statements a funder reads

Annual financial statements from your own records.

Stay right with SARS

Your returns kept current as part of the routine.

How it works

Your financial management project, in four steps

01

Learn

7 short lessons, each with a video and a quiz.

02

Start your project

We set up a project plan for you: 15 activities, starting with “Define financial management project objectives” and “Define financial management project stakeholders”.

03

Do the work step by step

Work through them one at a time, such as “Execute business finances project scope”, “Manage business finances project team” and “Make business finances project changes”, and watch your progress. You, your apprentice or your consultant can do it.

04

Get your reports

A status report as you go. The last activities, such as “Business finances project checklist” and “Solicit business finances project feedback”, lead to a final report you accept. RMK also approves it where a consultant did the work.

  2. Statement of comprehensive income. What you earned and what it cost you.
  3. Statement of financial position. What the business owns and what it owes.
  4. Statement of changes in equity. How the owner's share moved during the year.
  5. How quickly money moves. How fast customers pay you and you pay suppliers.
  6. Notes. The detail behind the figures.
